The C.E.T. and other Commissions

FICPI conducts its activities through voluntary member participation and its functions and activities are the responsibility of specific commissions.

Considerable emphasis is placed on the work of the Commissions whose members make detailed studies and analyses of topics which are of particular interest to and concern for our profession.

By far the largest commission is C.E.T., the Study & Work Commission, whose initials derive from the French title "Commission d'Étude et de Travail"). The C.E.T. has specialist groups concerned with trade marks, designs and copyright, international patent questions, European topics, biotechnology and dispute settlement, including litigation and arbitration.

Other Commissions are concerned with making contact with new members, publications, keeping in touch with the activities of the European Commission, with documentation, statutes, meetings & programmes, questions of ethics, electronic search, admissions and training & education.
