The C.E.T. is the largest of our commission. After our recent world congress nearly 100 members of the Federation are active in one or more of the CET sub-groups. The CET is responsible for the supervision and examination of developments in international and, in some cases, national legislation and the preparation of opinions by the Federation. Throughout the years, effective working methods have been developed by the CET to ensure that even at the very short notice which is often given by international, regional and national authorities, FICPI can produce a highly qualified opinion. The main body of the CET comprises, in addition to the president the vice-president of the commission, two general reporters responsible for the overall management of the work within a number of sub-groups specialising in the various main branches of industrial property protection, currently six groups dealing with trade marks, designs, international patent questions, European patent questions, biotechnology and litigation, respectively. To secure efficient operation, the CET is also joined by the Bureau and the presidents of DOC, EUCOF and Publications Commissions, as ex officio members. |
