Apart from the C.E.T., FICPI has 10 other commissions and below you will find a short outline of their functions and activities.
Click on in the left hand column for a list of currently serving Commission Members.


ADMISSION examines applications for the admission of individual members, and requests ratification by the Executive Committee of newly admitted members of national sections.

COMMUNICATIONS is responsible for the management of the press, publications and the website of the Federation.

CONTACT has the main function of establishing contacts with prospective candidates for membership in countries where FICPI is not sufficiently well represented and to promote the formation of a national association or FICPI section in a country when the number of members becomes sufficiently high to warrant this.

DEONTOLOGY is responsible for the development and observance of the rules of professional conduct of the Federation.

EUCOF is mainly responsible for the ongoing contacts with the various administrative bodies of the Commission of the European Communities active in intellectual property matters.

FAB stands for Finance Advisory Board, which advises the Executive Committee on financial matters.

MEMBERSHIP Commission was established to increase the membership of FICPI generally, clarify criteria for membership, strengthen FICPI's referral and information network, etc.

PEC (Professional Excellence Commission) is responsible for studying and making recommendations regarding matters of professional practice, e.g. professional standards and best practices, professional developments, etc.

STATUTES observes that Statutes and rules of the Federation are continuously adapted to the needs of the rapidly changing professional world.

TEC (Training & Education) has the overall responsibility to promote the training and continuing education of its members and others interested in intellectual property protection. In particular the commission has initiated training programs in S.E. Asia and Europe.
