Description

The “FICPI China Symposium (Hangzhou) 2017” will be held in Hangzhou, the capital city of east China's Zhejiang Province, from March 30 to April 1, 2017. As the Province's economic, cultural, technological and educational centre, the city also plays a central role in the Yangtze River Delta. With a permanent population of 8.9 million as of the end of 2014, the Municipality is spread over an area of 16,596 square kilometres with the city proper accounting for 4,876 square kilometres.

Renowned as one of China's seven Ancient Capitals, historic Hangzhou is proud to be one of the first  cities designated by the central government as a “Historic and Cultural City”. Also known as the Fabled City in the Southeast, Hangzhou shares with Suzhou the ultimate fame of Paradise on Earth. Marco Polo, 13th century Italian traveller, lauded Hangzhou as "the world's most magnificent and noble city." In September 2016, Hangzhou successfully hosted the 11th G20 summit. On that occasion, the eyes of the world were drawn to the summit and the city.

The FICPI-China Hangzhou Symposium will focus on the latest developments of the Chinese intellectual property system and global trend. The following topics will be covered:

  • IP protection in the internet environment
  • Opportunities and Challenges faced by Patent Agencies
