Russian Federation Joins the Hague System

12th March, 2018

On 28 February 2018, the Geneva (1999) Act of the Hague Agreement entered into force between the Russian Federation and WIPO, making the Russian Federation the 53rd member of the 1999 Act and 67th member of the Hague Union. From that date, companies and designers from the Russian Federation can begin using the Hague System to protect their industrial designs in the Contracting Parties to the 1999 Act of the Hague Agreement.

Conversely, foreign companies and designers can, from 28 February 2018, seek design protection through the Hague System in the Russian Federation. The Agreement was ratified on 30 November 2018.
