Conceived at the time as the tallest building in Europe, with its 117 metre height, Edificio España is still in the Top 10 of Madrid’s skyscrapers and complements the neighbouring Torre de Madrid, making the pair important architectural landmarks in the city.
A shining example of 20th century Spanish architecture built in the Neo Baroque style, Edificio España was inaugurated in 1953 as a mixed-use structure containing a hotel, offices, apartments, and shops. Several changes of management and function, and ten years of abandonment followed. Finally in 2019 - following a complete overhaul - the hotel was reborn with the firm aim of becoming a symbol of the city once again.
RIU has refurbished and showcased the protected elements of this eminent building with great delicacy and respect for the historical value of each of them. Nothing has been left to chance: during the renovation the Art Deco essence of the 50s and 60s was maintained and brought into the present day, preserving original elements such as the bas-reliefs present in the entrance doors, in the reception and in the staircases.

Prices are per night and include breakfast, service and VAT. Check-in is from 15:00; check-out is by 12:00.
At the time of organising this event, the best possible rates were negotiated with the hotel for FICPI Delegates. It is possible that better rates for a limited number of rooms may be available through other channels closer to the event, but with no guarantee that rooms at those prices will be available for the entire duration of the FICPI event.
Hotel Booking Terms & Conditions
During the booking process you will be asked to provide credit card details in order to guarantee your stay. No charge for the accommodation will be made at the time of the reservation; payment will be requested from guests directly at the reception desk upon check-in.
Authorisation for ENIC Meetings & Events to charge the credit card given to guarantee the reservation in case of no-show or late cancellation (after 10 September 2024), as well as an authorisation for the hotel to charge for all the booked nights in case of shortened stay (late arrival or early departure) are also required. Please note that without these authorisations your accommodation CANNOT be guaranteed.
We strongly recommend that you register and book your accommodation as soon as possible, preferably before 28 April 2024; please note that after 21 July 2024 bedroom availability cannot be guaranteed.
From 10 September 2024 reservations will be considered FINAL; in case of total or partial cancellation after that date, guests will be charged for the whole reserved stay. We therefore strongly recommend finalising your travel arrangements and the dates of your stay within this date in order not to incur cancellation fees.
